Norris Edges Out Piastri in Sao Paulo Practice Session
Lando Norris has beaten his teammate at all of the past five grands prix.
Lando Norris edged out team-mate and title rival the Australian for the quickest lap in the closing stages of practice at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix.
Norris, who took the championship lead from his teammate by a single point after winning in Mexico City two weeks ago, outpaced the Melbourne-born driver by a mere 0.023s.
Before then, Piastri had been the quickest of the McLaren pair throughout the hour before sprint qualifying scheduled for the evening session.
Max Verstappen, the only other driver in the points battle, trailing with a 36-point deficit behind Norris, finished in 17th position as his Red Bull team followed a alternative strategy.
His teammate the Japanese driver was the only driver to have an incident, albeit lightly, when he rotated at Turn Four early in the session.
Tsunoda slid over the exit kerbs before rotating through the escape zone, and was lucky to escape with just a light touch of the wall.

Hamilton wrapped up in 19th place, trailing teammate Charles Leclerc.
The McLaren pair were far ahead of the other competitors, with the German's Sauber P3, over half a second behind Piastri's best.
Aston Martin's the Spanish driver was fourth fastest, with the Sauber of Bortoleto in front of Mercedes' Russell and Alpine's Gasly and the Williams of Carlos Sainz.
