The team Veterans Over 35s are located in southern Manchester and compete in the Cheshire Veterans Division Premier Division.

"It's a bit unusual but then, I enjoy running and just go inside - I'm not staying back that much," he said.

"I tell my centre-back 'I'm not staying' and that I'm just going to continue running.

"That movement is what I'm seeking. It's enjoyable."

Dreamlike' Feeling

Along with the forward's 6 goals on his first game, Stephen Ireland has scored eight in three appearances for the side, while Boyd hit 5 on his debut appearance and Lescott, a defender by position, notched a triple in one game up front.

Wythenshawe are top of the Top Tier with 3 victories from 3 and a goal difference of plus nineteen.

Paul Barrow, thirty-eight, who features on the wing for the opposition, faced ex- Latics defender Maynor Figueroa on Sunday - and had to tell his young boy who Emile Heskey was.

"I think I was a bit awestruck facing him to be honest.

"Even Emile [Heskey] got on and he's got 60-odd England appearances.

"We literally haven't ceased talking about it - I was phoning my mum and sibling on the way home.

"The opponents were all friendly, shaking our hands after the game - it was like facing a bunch of regular fellas.

"Now we are eager for the return fixture."
