Assassin's Creed Reveals Bizarre AoT Event for Holiday Season
In a bizarre collaboration that defies traditional expectations, Ubisoft has revealed an in-game collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost additional story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Questline Revealed
According to the official release, "A strange encounter draws protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where whispers of banned ceremonies and terrifying metamorphoses resonate through the shadows." The plot features a "unusually dressed woman named Ada" who charges the characters with venturing into the Crystal Cave—a important location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a hidden cult.
The questline concentrates on "peculiar experiments and a monstrous foe" and is accessible to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Places and Transformations
The preview features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was previously where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The teaser ends with a dramatic moment showing a character, likely the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Items and Extra Content
Players who successfully complete the adventure will acquire an unique katana alongside multiple objects concealed throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-themed costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Exclusive implements
- Survey Corps vehicle
Third Free Story Update
This release also brings the game's latest no-cost story episode, titled "The Enigma." This lighthearted adventure teams Naoe and Yasuke as they swap distinctive skills: Naoe introduces a dramatic variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-fatal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "A Puzzlement" also contains a fresh environmental puzzle that may ultimately clarify some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
